The city of Irving has pulled together a handful of development options with the ability to charm Inc. into bringing its second North American headquarters to this North Texas city.

The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce today announced the 37th class of Leadership Irving-Las Colinas. Founded in 1980, Leadership Irving-Las Colinas prepares a diverse group of leaders to serve as agents and sustainers of positive change for the quality of life in Irving. The program serves to provide a systematic program to enhance awareness of community opportunities, challenges, and resources, as well as open lines of communication and strengthen existing relationships with participants from various segments of the community and with community leaders.

Irving hit a new record, issuing more than $1.1 billion in construction permitting this fiscal year, topping last year by 34 percent. City staff expects the number to increase by fiscal year-end. This comes as fast-casual restaurant chain, Pei Wei Asian Diner LLC, prepares to move its corporate headquarters to Irving from Scottsdale, Arizona.
