Economic Development Overview
Irving continues to boast an impressive list of accomplishments through the Irving Economic Development Partnership (IEDP.) The IEDP is a strategic collaboration of the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, City of Irving, the Irving Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, Las Colinas Association, Dallas County Utility and Reclamation District and private invsetors. The Partnership’s mission is to advance, create and promote economic development in Irving-Las Colinas.
Over the next five years, Economic Development in Irving is expected to increase dramatically with the addition of nearly $3 billion in new and planned developments: 6 million square feet of additional commercial space; 5,000 new residential units; 2,000 new hotel rooms; 20,000 new residents; 4 million annual visitors.
The IEDP was responsible for four of the five largest office deals in the region in 2016. The recruitment of McKesson Corporation, a Fortune 5 company, brought more than 1800 jobs to Irving. The company purchased 525,000 square feet of office space at the corner of State Highways 114 and 161. McKesson is expected to generate $4.7 billion in total economic activity over the next decade.

- Avero Diagnostics
This specialized cancer diagnostics company is leasing an additional 18,000 square feet of space in Irving and adding 45 new jobs at 6221 Riverside.
A molecular and specialized testing company, the company is increasing its square footage by adding a billing center in. It includes 14,000 square feet and 100 new jobs at 4500 Fuller Drive.
The digital publishing company opted to renew its 110,000 square foot lease on Interstate 635 and MacArthur and retain 500 jobs in Irving. This location serves as their headquarters.
- MAG Retail - Motorsports Aftermarket Group
The California company opted to construct its new corporate headquarters in Cypress Waters after a national search. The facility will include 42,000 square feet of space and 200 jobs. MAG Retail includes the merger of J&P Cycles and Motorcycle Superstore, and is the world’s largest source for aftermarket motorcycle parts and accessories.
- Pabst Brewing Company
The largest American-owned brewer recently announced that they would lease 30,000 square feet in Irving creating 60 new jobs.
The City and Chamber worked on an incentive agreement with Nokia, retaining nearly 1,200 jobs in Irving. The 292,000 square foot facility serves as the North American Headquarters for Nokia.

- Oki Data Americas, Inc
The Japanese manufacturer and marketer of printer products is opening a new operation at 8505 Freeport Parkway and bringing more than 100 high-wage jobs.
- Healthcare Associates
The multi-specialty private medical practice is doubling its presence in Irving with the construction of a 90,000 square foot building at Gateway/State Highway 161.
- UnitedHealth Group Inc.
The largest U.S. health insurer is adding up to 500 new jobs at its Irving location, 5150 Regent.
This French company that focuses on IT/business technology services and solutions announced that Irving would be a regional headquarters for the company, creating over 1,000 new jobs and leasing 100,000 square feet at Connection Park.
- First American Title Insurance
Relocating 326 jobs from Fort Worth to Irving. The Company leased 77,000 square feet at Connection Park on Interstate 635.
- Advanta Seed
Agroeconomic and vegetable seed company opened an office.
- Cardinal Financial
This mortgage firm expanded its presence at 6031 Connection Drive by adding 28,000 square feet of office space and 150 new jobs.
- American Airlines
The nation’s largest Airline is expanding its hangar, investing over $14 million and creating 16 new jobs. The City of Irving and Chamber facilitated the creation of an enterprise zone for this project.
- Louis Vuitton
Luxury retailer is opening a customer contact center at 4200 Regent and creating up to 200 new jobs.
- PinStack Bowl
Premier entertainment destination with a restaurant, bowling lanes, and bar is building its second DFW location in Irving on Interstate 635.
- OSG Tools
Leading manufacturer of taps, end mills, drills, and cutting tools is expanding into Irving by leasing 59,000 square feet at 1945 West Walnut Hill.
- Michaels Stores
America’s largest arts and crafts retail chain is based in Irving, Texas and renewed its lease in 2015. The City and Chamber facilitated an enterprise zone application. Michaels for one of Irving’s largest employers.
