Irving continues to boast an impressive list of accomplishments through its Irving Economic Development Partnership (IEDP), a strategic collaboration of the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, City of Irving, Irving Convention & Visitor’s Bureau (ICVB), Las Colinas Association (LCA) and Dallas County Utility and Reclamation District (DCURD), as well as private investors.
The partnership’s mission is to advance, create and promote economic development in Irving-Las Colinas.
Economic development in Irving is projected to increase dramatically through 2020 with the addition of nearly $3 billion in new and planned developments: $6 million square-feet of additional commercial space; 5,000 new residential units; 2,000 new hotel rooms; 20,000 new residents; and $4 million annual visitors.
IEDP was responsible for four of the five largest office deals in the region in 2016. The recruitment of McKesson Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, brought more than 1,800 jobs to Irving.
Economic Development Highlights
- Advanta Seed
Advanta Seed, a global seed company specializing in agro-economic and vegetable seeds, recently established its North American headquarters in Irving.
- American Airlines
The nation’s largest airline is expanding its hangar, investing over $14 million and creating 16 new jobs. The City of Irving and Chamber facilitated the creation of an enterprise zone for this project.
Atos is a European IT services corporation headquartered in Bezons, France. It recently established a regional headquarters in Irving. Atos will create over 1,000 new jobs and is leasing 100,000 square feet at Connection Park.
- Avero Diagnostics
This specialized cancer diagnostics company is leasing an additional 18,000 square feet of space in Irving and adding 45 new jobs at 6221 Riverside.
- Cardinal Financial
This mortgage firm expanded its presence at 6031 Connection Drive by adding 28,000 square feet of office space and 150 new jobs.
One of Irving’s most active community partner and corporate citizens moved into a new space a few doors away from their longtime location and doubled its square footage in the process.
- First American Title Insurance
The company moved its divisional home office to Connection Park on I-635, leasing 77,000 square feet and relocating 326 jobs from Fort Worth.
- Healthcare Associates
The multi-specialty, private medical practice will increase its profile in Irving and double the size of its facility upon completion of its 90,000-square foot building at Gateway and SH161.
- Louis Vuitton
This luxury retailer has opened a customer contact center in Regent Center and created up to 200 new jobs.
- MAG Retail - Motorsports Aftermarket Group
This California company selected Irving’s Cypress Waters to relocate its corporate headquarters. The facility includes 42,000 square feet of space and 200 jobs. MAG Retail, created by the merger of J&P Cycles and Motorcycle Superstore, is the world’s largest source for aftermarket motorcycle parts and accessories.
Fortune 5 firm selected Irving-Las Colinas for a regional headquarter that will employ nearly 2,000. They purchased 525,000-square-feet at the corner of SH 114/SH 161. It was one of North Texas' largest office deals in 2016 and the largest Texas Enterprise Fun awarded under Governor Greg Abbott at $9.75 million.
- Michaels Stores, Inc.
America’s largest arts and crafts retail chain’s headquarters based in Irving. The City and Chamber facilitated an enterprise zone application for Michaels, one of Irving’s largest employers.
The digital publishing company renewed its 110,000 square foot headquarters lease on I-635 and MacArthur Blvd., retaining 500 jobs.
The City and Chamber created a retention incentive agreement with Nokia that resulted in retaining nearly 1,200 jobs. The 292,000 square foot facility serves as the North American headquarters for Nokia.
- Oki Data Americas, Inc.
The Japanese manufacturer and marketer of printer products is opening a new operation at 8505 Freeport Pkwy., bringing more than 100 high-wage jobs.
- OSG Tools
Leading manufacturer of taps, end mills, drills, and cutting tools has expanded into Irving by leasing 59,000 square feet at 1945 West Walnut Hill near North Lake College’s main campus.
- Pabst Brewing Company
The largest American-owned brewer recently announced that they would lease 30,000 square feet in Irving creating 60 new jobs.
- PinStack Bowl
Premier entertainment destination with a restaurant, bowling lanes, and bar is building its second DFW location on Interstate 635 in Irving.
A molecular and specialized testing company, the company is increasing its square footage by adding a billing center in. It includes 14,000 square feet and 100 new jobs at 4500 Fuller Drive.
- UnitedHealth Group, Inc.
The largest U.S. health insurer is adding up to 500 new jobs at its Irving location, 5150 Regent.
