Irving Chamber Legislative Agenda
Public policy significantly impacts businesses and their ability to operate. From transportation initiatives to workforce funding to tax law, legislation influences the competitiveness and profitability of our businesses.
The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce is a strong advocate for business interests at the city, regional, state and federal levels. We are the voice of business.
We have an integrated approach to develop our policy positions and then proactively advocate. Our culture of collaboration has been vital to addressing challenges in an increasingly competitive global economy. We regularly identify priorities prior to each legislative session and review and adjust as needed.
Additionally, the Chamber hosts trips to Austin and Washington D.C. to ensure our issues are effectively communicated to lawmakers.
- Annual Washington Fly-In -A delegation of Chamber members and staff and local officials travel to Washington D.C. each May for the annual U.S. Chamber Small Business Summit and to meet with federal elected officials.
- Austin Day – The Chamber organizes a trip to Austin during each biennial session. Local representatives and committee chairs meet with the group throughout the day to discuss pending legislation and answer members’ concerns.
